I completed my Master’s in Wildlife Biology from Bharathidasan University (AVC College, Tamil Nadu) in 2011. During the course, I worked in diverse field of taxa ranging from Indian Golden Gecko in Eastern Ghats to my dissertation on sympatric sparrows in Silchar, Barak Valley, Assam. Currently, I am pursuing a PhD, which seeks to understand how House Sparrow and Tree Sparrow associate with different urban gradients in Guwahati City, Assam. Prior to joining UNESCO C2C at the Wildlife Institute of India, I worked in Manas World Heritage Site for four years with Aaranyak, a society for biodiversity and conservation in Notheast India. There I was involved in All India Tiger Estimation (2012-2014) in Manas Tiger Reserve; project on ‘Improving the protection of Asian elephants and their habitat by setting up community based GPS patrolling’ in Ripu-Chirang Mike Site in Manas Tiger Reserve; and recently concluded field work for mapping the spread and extent of noxious grassland invasive species in Manas National Park, Assam. My primary areas of interest are landscape & population ecology. I am equally interested in studying statistics and lesser known herpetofauna.

I did my master’s degree in Geology from H.N.B Garhwal University, Srinagar Garhwal and Post Graduate Diploma in Application of Remote Sensing and GIS in Natural Resource Management from Indian Institute of Remote Sensing, ISRO in 2009. Thereafter, I joined Uttarakhand Space Application Centre as Project Associate and was engaged in studying the natural resources of Uttarakhand using Remote Sensing and GIS. Prior to joining UNESCO C2C Centre I was working in Indian Institute of Remote Sensing, ISRO as Senior Research Fellow and working in project entitled “Land Use Land Cover Dynamics and Impact of Human Dimensions in Indian River Basins”. I am pursuing PhD from Indian Institute of Remote Sensing, ISRO on topic “To analyze and predict the Land Use Land Cover change in Lower Ganga basin and its effect on hydrological regime of the basin”. My area of interest include Land Use Land Cover modelling, Hydrological modelling, Remote Sensing, GIS, Geostatistics, environmental Geology.
