I am from Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh , I studied my B.Sc in Botany, Zoology and Chemistry from Andhra Loyola College. I wanted to be in wild from childhood and I used to spend most of my free time in monsoons observing and playing with snails. Documentaries inspired me to visit National parks and Sanctuaries in our state. I was a NGC volunteer for three years and participated in several awareness campaigns. I had also participated in surveys with Centre for Wildlife Studies. My interests are animal behaviour and their interactions with other species besides evolution

I am from Mysore, a graduate in Agricultural Sciences from UAS, Bangalore. Ever since I can remember, I have been fascinated by nature. And for the past 10 years I have been an volunteer at Sri Chamarajendra Zoological Garden, Mysore which uncovered me to the fascinating world of animal behavior and their lives. Since then, I made up my mind to pursue a career towards nature conservation. I am concerned about habitat fragmentation and other similar issues, such as human-animal conflict and would like to find ways to address the same. And being here fulfills my desire to do so. My other interests include swimming, carnatic music and sketching.

I am from Pune and have done my Bachelors degree in Zoology and Botany from St. Xaviers College, Mumbai. I developed an interest in the field of biology after watching birds in the greener parts in and around Pune. My love for outdoors led me to volunteer for Pugmarks, an organisation that leads students’ camps. With so many internship opportunities in the field these days, one is spoilt for choice and hence I took part in an assortment of surveys like occupancy survey in the Sahyadri ranges in Maharashtra, animal-human interactions around the Kanha National Park, Madhya Pradesh; and studying behaviour patterns and estuary use of dolphins in Kochi, Kerala. I am interested in studying animal behaviour which, according to me, is imperative for devising implementable conservation measures. I am also fascinated by marine ecology and am a certified PADI Search and Rescue diver. Music, photography and sports are some of my hobbies.

I am from Mumbai and I completed my graduation from St. Xaviers' college, Mumbai. Those who say work is not pleasure, have never seen the candy coloured sun set amidst the mountains or have never woken up to a whistling thrush's call. This is what a forest gives you and a lot more. I got to experience all this in the mountain ranges in Maharashtra. My liking for travel and exploring took me to different places. I have volunteered for various projects and surveys in Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka etc. But out of all what really caught my attention was the wildlife surveys which took into consideration man-animal conflict. I did camera trapping for leopards and other small carnivores in some villages adjoing Pune in Maharashtra. Here I got an opportunity to understand the people staying in such conflict areas. I was also a part of the project 'Mumbaikars for Sanjay Gandhi National Park'. After volunteering for these projects my interests have turned towards man-animal conflict and I would like to work on it in future. My other liking and interests are monsoons, trekking, reading and talking.

I am from Dibrugarh district of upper Assam and completed my B.Sc degree in Zoology from DHSK College Dibrugarh under Dibrugarh University, Assam. During my graduation I have done a project on the Herpetofaunal diversity of Merbeel (an oxbow lake) in Dibrugarh District and made a checklist of different groups of Amphibians and Reptiles. Though many herpetological survey and reports were published from many places of this region it was the first ever report from this particular area. The insecurity of this group of animals due to different anthropogenic impacts and the lack of awareness among the local people made me to work on them, during which I tried my best to make the people aware about the conservation and importance of this particular group of animals by participating in local and personal meetings as well as performing drama and street plays in various places. I have also worked with Dr Manju Siliwal from “Zoo Outreach Organization & Wildlife Information Liaison Development” in a project on “Documenting the diversity, distribution and status of primitive spiders (Mygalomorphs) in North-East India” and was working as a volunteer in North-East India. I also have very keen interest in wildlife photography, bird watching, mammals and exploring new areas. I want to enrich my knowledge base to be able to address the various issues related to Wildlife and Nature and their proper management techniques

“Hailing from the town of Darjeeling widely known as Queen of the Hills in the Eastern Himalayas, I have grown up in the land where nature has no bounds and is a way of life. I am a graduate in Zoology from Gargi College, University of Delhi with a natural passion for the wildlife and its conservation. This has further been strengthened through my various internships ranging from private pet clinics, animal hospitals spread over Delhi to the Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park in Darjeeling. At the Darjeeling Zoo, I also had an opportunity to observe the complexities and finer nuances of the conservation breeding centre meant for the Red Panda and the Snow Leopard. This further inspired me to broaden my horizon on wider yet critical issues that relate to conservation of wild fauna of the high altitude regions and emerging new varieties of man-animal conflicts. I plan to study animal health and conservation issues against the backdrop of climate change and also endeavour to bring mountain perspectives at the national and global levels. My other areas of interests include baking, photography and travelling."

I come from the capital city Delhi. Born and brought up in this second most crowded metropolis, yearning to be close to nature was always within me. I completed my graduation in Applied Zoology from Dyal Singh College, University of Delhi. I then joined M.Sc. Biodiversity and Conservation at Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU), Dwarka, New Delhi and completed one year of my masters before joining Wildlife Institute of India. My interest in wildlife elicited by my frequent visits to my maternal hometown Maharajganj; a district situated at Indo-Nepal border, during my childhood days. Most of my time was spent playing with cats and frogs which were around. Also, the encounter with snake charmers played a significant role to stimulate and induce in me the love for reptiles. In near future I am interested to work on the behavioural ecology of animals mainly reptiles and mammals thereby proving my significant efforts for the cause of their conservation. Apart from this I also wish to address the impacts caused by human activities and the on-going climate change on wildlife. My other interests include photography, sports, reading, exploring nature and art and craft.
