The PENTA project's objectives

The project's main objective is to promote education outside the EU, to enhance the attractiveness of EA courses, and to attract third country students to study this field in EU countries.

At present, Environmental Assessment and/or Strategic Environmental Assessment is a key focal point of discussion at many international conferences where representatives of a certain number of European and Third Country Universities take part.

Specific objectives are as follows:

  • To organise promotional activities and marketing for the project on an international, basis. Marketing and communication efforts will be directed towards third country universities.
  • To create an efficient generic taught curriculum in EA issues, suitable for application by third country audience.
  • To create a basic generic teaching material in a format of a textbook, suitable for the third country audience.
  • To promote the EA curriculum and EU higher educational institutions.
  • To prepare and develop a live network of EU and third country universities focusing on future EA Master courses.
  • The project represents set of activities that lead to achieving of the above mentioned aims, it consists of 6 workpackages and 6 outputs/products.
  • The consortium partnership in the project is based on long-term co-operation in the field of EA education, research and project implementation in order to bring in the European experience and to enhance the attractiveness in respect to third countries.
