The Wildlife Institute of India (WII) celebrated the 25th anniversary of global GIS Day, by conducting a two-day workshop during the Geography week on November 21-22. Fifty-five researchers were selected to participate. The workshop was officially inaugurated by the Director of WII, who shared valuable insights from their extensive experience in the GIS field. The first day featured a series of informative sessions, including discussions on data availability for remote sensing-GIS analysis, hands-on training with ArcGIS Pro, Google Earth Pro, and the M-STrIPES application. The WII GIS Team also organized an engaging Geospatial Quiz using Arial View to add an element of excitement.

Day 2 began with a hands-on session on Google Earth Engine, followed by a demonstration of the M-STrIPES desktop software for data visualization and analysis and Quiz.
This event marked the fifth consecutive year of GIS Day celebrations and workshops, showcasing the commitment of researchers in advancing this initiative.
